At Motiva AI, our mission is to serve as a state-of-the-art catalyst for customer trust and relationships at scale.  Motiva AI uses reinforcement learning to automatically adapt email communications to audiences, resulting in more relevant and engaging digital conversations.  Say good-bye to spam 👋

And we’re steadily growing.  Our platform delivers high-impact customer experiences for some of the most well-known brands like Ford, Cisco, Unity, Verizon, Blackrock, and ThermoFisher Scientific.

You’ll work with an experienced, tightly-integrated team of currently 8 strong and be a strategic partner to our VP of Engineering.

You might be working on any of these projects in the next 12 months:

  • Architecture Decoupling – we’re evolving our system towards a functional domain-driven design and event-driven architectural style, building on what our team has accomplished to date.
  • Operations Engineering – it took years to gain the trust of some of our enterprise customers; and for many, we have become an essential service to their marketing teams. You’ll help ensure that our systems are reliable and, when problems do arise, we’re able to solve them promptly and safely.
  • Simplifying Codebase – we spent our first few years moving fast to achieve product-market fit. Some portions of our 50k lines of Clojure code would no doubt frustrate you. But the good news is that there are many opportunities to demonstrate “Simple Made Easy”.

You have…

  • Mindset to thrive in an unstructured, ambitious  startup environment
  • Discipline to work in a remote team (centered around 2pm – 6pm PT)
  • Long-term experience maintaining an active software system in production
  • Attention to detail

Our People

  • Love spending time in nature, one of us lives next to an active volcano
  • Community conscious, one of us is on their kids’ school’s committee
  • Fluent in multiple languages, collectively, we speak Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese, …

Team Highlights

  • Product managed the largest machine learning program in the US Government’s history
  • Part of the team that developed Siri
  • We’ve worked for Google, Nike, Amdocs, CMS, GSK, Johns Hopkins APL, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, and a bunch of other interesting places
  • Collectively had two exits and one IPO, as well as a respectable number of startup failures
